Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release that MDEA investigators have been working with Bar Harbor Police and other local law enforcement agencies, after receiving reports of a suspected meth lab at the Bar Harbor home. Police searched the home Tuesday morning and found two women and a man, all of whom were taken into custody for either bail violations or outstanding arrest warrants.

Charged later with trafficking in methamphetamine are 40-year-old Joy Levesque of Bar Harbor, 48-year-old Elwood Carter of Surry, and 46-year-old Melissa Morse of Surry. the three are being held at Hancock County Jail pending a determination of bail.

Wednesday evening, the MDEA lab team searched the house and found several instances where meth was being made. The MDEA's clandestine lab team dismantled the suspected lab and cleared the home at 11 o'clock last night. The specialized team is comprised of MDEA agents and chemists from the Maine Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory and are trained to safely dispose of labs and collect evidence.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Bar Harbor Police were assisted at the scene by the Bar Harbor Fire Department and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection. Drug agents will continue to work with Bar Harbor Police following up on this investigation and more arrests are likely.
