Think of all the movies set in Maine. The Shawshank Redemption, Pete’s Dragon, Casper, It. The list goes on, and on. The fine website Thrillist.com put together of the best movies set in each state. The films didn't need to actually be filmed in the state. Maine's 'best movie' was filmed in Pennsylvania.

Selected for Maine was Wet Hot American Summer. Not what you expected? Yeah. But hey if it weren't for this movie no Bradley Cooper. No American Sniper. The cult classic also helped launch the careers of Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks and Amy Poehler.
