I remember as a kid playing croquet with my cousins at family reunions and if you have never played you are missing out on a very fun lawn game. That said you need miss out no more if you head to Ellsworth to be a part of the Woodlawn Invitational Croquet Tournament.

The event starts this week and runs through the weekend. And let’s be clear the folks at the Woodlawn Museum aren’t kidding around this is a six wicket USCA sanctioned tournament with three days of block play. This is one of several tourneys they hold during the course of the year. He Invitational is said to draw players from as far away as Canada.

If you'd like to watch the action the Museum posted that courts were open for practice on today and play will commence on Thursday morning, June 14 and end on Sunday afternoon, June 17. The opening reception and dinner will be Wednesday evening, June 13, at the Woodlawn Museum Sleigh Barn.

Never seen the game?  Check out this tournament from a few years back.
