A Hannaford store in Topsham has issued a recall of ground beef that may have metal shavings within the meat.

This past Saturday employees in charge of processing the ground beef found metal shavings inside of a meat grinder and immediately issued a recall. Workers in the meat department believe that metal clips used to seal larger bags of beef fell off and into the grinder.

The meat in question was sold on Saturday, December 14th, between 7am and 1:45pm.  It included 90, 85 and 73 percent lean ground beef.

If you believe that you have one of the recalled packages of ground beef, then for your safety you are asked to return it to the store.
