A crash involving a tractor-trailer truck caused headaches for drivers on I-95 in Waterville on Thursday.

Paul Cusano, 54, of Epping, NH, was distracted when his truck struck the guardrails on both sides of the road and jack-knifed on the Kennedy Memorial Drive overpass, said Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Cusano was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The truck, enroute to Pride Manufacturing in Burnham with a load of golf tees, was destroyed.

The Maine DEP and firefighters from Waterville cleaned up a small amount of fuel that spilled onto the road.

Following the crash, which was reported at about 10:20 a.m., drivers were forced to follow a detour at the mile 127 exit.

McCausland said traffic returned to normal at about 3:45 p.m.
