A truck hitting a pole has caused a power outage. Emera Maine says several broken poles will mean it will take a little longer getting the power restored to customers.

Emera spokesperson Bob Potts said in a press release just before 11 this morning that crews were headed to the site of the accident on Mt. Hope Avenue in Bangor.

More than 1,200 customers lost power on Mt. Hope Avenue and all of the nearby 'tree streets,' including Elm, Palm, and Maple Streets. Potts says broken poles will make the restoration efforts more complicated and so it will take longer to correct the damage.

Emera Maine hopes to have the power back on by 2:00 this afternoon.
