A Bangor woman and a Bangor man face drug charges after two separate incidents on Friday.

In the first case, Ashley Martinez, 22, of Bangor faces a unlawful drug trafficking charge after police responded to Hollywood Casino at about 2:45 a.m. to investigate a female who had dropped a package of Oxycodone tablets when she exited her vehicle in the parking area.

As the result of the investigation, over 190 Oxycodone tablets were seized and Martinez was arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail. The estimated street value on the drug is approximately $6,000.

She is being held in Penobscot County with a $50,000 dollar cash bail.

In the second case, Brian Thomas, 37, of Bangor faces charges of aggravated drug trafficking, refusing to submit to arrest and violation of bail conditions.

The arrest came while police were investigating a report of disorderly conduct near 160 Ohio Street. During the investigation, police met Thomas, who is out on bail and subject to a police search. Police say Thomas fled the area.

He was located a short time later by officers of the Bangor Police Department. It was apparent to officers that Thomas had discarded both cash and what appeared to be narcotics during the incident. Bangor Police Department K-9, Lex located the narcotics nearby after a short search.

Police say a substantial amount of crack cocaine and crystal methamphetamine was seized along with more than $6000 in cash.

He is being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
