A Stockton Springs woman and a U.S. citizen living in Tijuana, Mexico have been arrested for trafficking methamphetamine, police said.

Tiffany Eastman, 27, and Dustin Campbell, 38, each face a charge of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs. Campbell also faces a charge of illegal importation of schedule W drugs, Stephen McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said in a news release on Friday.

The arrests follow a two-month investigation by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the U.S. Postal Inspectors and the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.

Eastman was arrested on Aug. 21 after a robbery was reported at the motel she staying at, the Rocky Ridge Motel in Stockton Springs. Approximately 66 grams of methamphetamine were found at the motel, the release said.

Police said Campbell had mailed approximately 88 grams of methamphetamine to Eastman from San Diego, California. The street value of the meth was $18,000.

Campbell was arrested on Oct. 28 as he tried to cross the border into the United States. He is being held at the San Diego Central Jail as a fugitive from justice related to the Maine charges, and he is fighting extradition to Maine, McCausland said.
