Two Bangor Radio Shack Stores Targeted for Closure

Radio Shack has listed two Bangor stores among those targeted for closure as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring.

The two Bangor stores -- at the Bangor Mall and the Airport Mall -- are two of 13 Maine stores on a list released by the company this week. Radio Shack has 29 stores in Maine, according to its website.

The company, which filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 5, plans to close 1,784 stores by March 31. The company owns about 4,000 stores nationwide.

The closures will come in three phases. The Bangor stores are included in the second phase of closures, which will end by Feb. 28.
