Two Bangor residents have been arrested in connection with a residential burglary on Garland Street, police said.

Shana Boutot, 26, and Shawn Boutot, 32, have been charged with receiving stolen property, the Bangor Police Department said in a Monday news release.

The arrests stem from a Jan. 8 burglary at a home on Garland Street. The residence was undergoing extensive renovations, and while construction crews were away, a neighbor observed two individuals removing items from the home, the release said.

More than $2,000 worth of tools and equipment were reported stolen.

The release said Bangor police detectives on Monday executed a search warrant at a State Street apartment building, where the majority of stolen property was recovered. As a result of the investigation, Shana and Shawn Boutot were arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

Shana Boutot was also charged with violating her probation.
