Two men were injured in a shooting and stabbing early this morning. Police in Southern Maine say the men's injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The Portland Press Herald reports police responded to the intersection of Market and Fore Streets sometime around 12:30 Monday morning. Two men were injured in what the PPH says was a shooting and a stabbing in the Old Port section of the city.

One man is in custody following the altercation that sent two people to Maine Medical Center. Their injuries are said to non-life threatening. There's no word, at this point, about what sparked the incident. We'll update this story as details become available.
