Two men from New York were arrested on the Maine Turnpike after a state trooper found a large quantity of heroin in their vehicle.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says the men were arrested early Tuesday morning after Trooper Robert Cejka stopped the car for speeding. The vehicle was traveling at 90 mph along the northbound lane of the turnpike in Kennebunk at around 2 a.m. Cejka's State Police dog, named Maxx, is certified in drug detection and indicated that there were drugs in the car. A search of the vehicle found 152 grams of heroin hidden in the trunk.

28-year-old Robert Hines and 30-year-old Jason Viorla, both from the Bronx, New York, are being held at the York County Jail, charged with trafficking in heroin. Bail on both men has been set at $20,000 each.
