Police are asking for the public's help locating two hooded suspects who were surprised by a homeowner as they were trying to break-in.

WABI-TV reports State Police, along with Penobscot County Sheriff's Deputies were called to Hampden Road in Carmel, also known as Route 69, at around 5 p.m. Friday night. The homeowner told police two white males in black hooded sweatshirts had tried to break in. When the homeowner surprised them, they reportedly ran across the road and into the woods. No other identifying information of the suspects was available.

Police searched the woods with a K-9 unit, but no evidence of the suspects was found. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office at 947-4585.
