Unique and Unconventional Version of the National Anthem (Video)

I've heard a lot of versions of the Star Spangled Banner, both good and not-so-good. And as much as I enjoy a traditional rendition, I always love to hear others ways that it can be interpreted. And I have to say, this version is my new favorite! Wow!

It's unconventional, to be sure. Performed by rock band "Madison Rising," it's heavy on guitar and drums, with soaring vocals. Paired with some patriotic pictures, the video is inspiring and uplifting.

Lead singer for Madison Rising is Navy Veteran Dave Bray. Born in England to American parents while his father was in the Navy, Bray's family moved to Pennsylvania when he was 5 years old. Bray followed in his father's footsteps and served four years in the U.S. Navy.

The band is known for its explicitly pro-American message and sound. It's like no version I've ever heard before and includes some new lyrics that just add to the whole thing. I absolutely love it! Check it out!
