They have retained many of the former Pearle Vision employees who look forward to giving their established patients (and all their new ones) the same level of professional care they are accustomed to.

Meet The Expert

Dr. Philip Goldthwait was born in Hartford, CT. After graduating high school in CT, he attended Bates College in Lewiston, ME and graduated with a BS in Chemistry in 1982. He continued his education at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA where he graduated with honors in 1988. After completing his fellowship/residency in 1989, he began practicing optometry in Jacksonville, FL .

Dr. Goldthwait returned to Maine in 1996 and currently practices in Bangor as the owner of Goldthwait Vision Care in the Bangor Mall. He has been providing exceptional eye care to the people of Maine for the past 17 years.

Most recently, he opened Mainely Eyes, a full-service optical store located next to Goldthwait Vision Care. Dr. Goldthwait and the staff of Goldthwait Vision care and Mainely Eyes are committed to offering the highest standard of eye care and eye wear to their patients.

Dr. Goldthwait is an avid pilot. He also enjoys reading and golf. He resides in Brewer with his wife and daughter.
