Each year the folks at the Penobscot Valley Ski Club holds  a sale of used equipment to help get more Mainers into the sport of skiing. 

This year's sale is happening tomorrow, Saturday the 13th from 8 am until 2 pm at the Bangor Parks and recreation building at 647 Main Street in Bangor.

According to their Facebook page they will actually have both New & Used Equipment: Alpine & Nordic Skis, Snowboards, Boots, Poles, Gear, Apparel.  so no matter how you think you'd like to try and enjoy the snow there will be something there for you.

Staffed by the members of the Penobscot Valley Ski Club I can only imagine you can get some good tips for starting about, places to go and people to go with if you'd like.

If you are looking to sell what you have you still have time today to register.  Here is the form to give it a whirl. You have until 7 pm tonight.

A little background of the club, they have been around officially since 1941, and are one of Maine’s oldest ski organizations. They offer both cross-country and downhill ski trips, competitions and instruction. 500 members strong the club has introductory programs for young skiers as well as offerings for adults of all abilities.Throughout the winter season, PVSC organizes bus trips to various ski areas around Maine, as well as a multi-night trip to Quebec.
