Even more TV time for Maine Game Warden Kris MacCabe.

The 'North Woods Law' star is featured in one of many PSA's the Maine Warden Service is producing in opposition to Question 1. On the November ballet the question will read, 'Do you want to ban the use of bait, dogs or traps in bear hunting except to protect property, public safety, or for research?'

In the PSA MacCabe speaks from the prospective of a game warden, as well as a bear hunter. MacCabe states: 'I’ve actually baited bears myself, and been unsuccessful'

The group Mainers for Fair Bear Hunting say bear baiting, trapping and hounding 'cruel and unsporting practices.'

Bear hunting in Maine is strictly regulated. The seasonal hunt plays an important role in keeping the bear population at a manageable level. Wardens and state biologists agree that if the referendum passes bear and human conflicts will rise, and be more severe.

So far in 2014, the Maine Warden Service has received 600 bear related complaints.
