Watch An Ice Jam Let Loose On A Small Vermont Stream [VIDEO]

Did you know that it was "Flood Safety Awareness Week?"

Watch this video provided by the National Weather Service in Caribou, it shows what can happen when an ice jam on a small stream lets loose.  The video was taken in Vermont.

This is pretty serious business.  The River Flow Advisory Commission will meet Thursday to review current flood potential here in Maine.  We've received an immense amount of snow and cold temperatures this winter and when things begin to finally warm up ice jams will certainly be a concern.
