DEER FIGHT!!!!

Another impressive buck brawl was captured on video this week. The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife shared the video on their Facebook page. The video was shot by Wayne Wilson of Old Orchard Beach.

In their post, MDIFW explained that these short sparring sessions are how bucks compete for a doe. This is also how drunk dudes compete for a female at a bar.

Love is in the air. This is peak breeding time for deer, also known as rut. Peak breeding time for deer in Maine is between November 17-23.

Last month two young bucks went head to head on North Street in Calais. All the action was captured on camera. The Facebook video was shared well over 1,000 times!
