Well after fifty years of on air work, Rick Foster, WDEA's morning announcer has officially hung up the headphones.  Man, that's pretty admirable in this business, fifty years!

With his old tunes, box of funny stuff and pot of coffee, "Mr. Ellsworth" has been waking Downeasters and recently online listeners around the world in his own way.  I will miss Rick's wit, his compassion for radio, and yes even his Ray Conniff songs, as he did his daily show from his studio high above Main Street in Ellsworth.

Thank you for your service to the community, to the many owners of the radio station and of course to your many fans, who will miss you immensely every weekday morning.

Enjoy your retirement Rick, cherish the sunrise at Acadia, and especially love every moment of a relaxing breakfast with your wife Becky, you've earned  and deserve it!
