Christopher Knight, the "North Pond Hermit", recently opened up and talked to Michael Finkel a writer for GQ Magazine.

In the issue, which will be available on Aug. 26, Knight talks about the 27 years he spent holed up in the woods of Rome, Maine.

The 48 year old said he never thought of himself as a hermit. Knight told Finkel, "When I came out of the woods they applied the label "hermit" to me. Strange idea to me. I had never thought of myself as a hermit. Then I got worried. For I knew with the label "hermit" comes the idea of "crazy."

Knight said that he listened to the radio while in the woods and enjoyed The Who, AC/DC, Judas Priest and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

He told Finkel that "They will be playing Lynyrd Skynrd songs in a thousand years."

Before he was released from jail Christopher Knight told the writer, "I don't know your world. What life is today? What is proper? I have to figure out how to live."

The article should turn out to be a very interesting read!
