What did you do before you ended up doing what you do now?

I worked in wood harvesting.  Yup, before I started playing the "platters that matter" I cut down, or "felled" trees for a living, more specifically softwood.  And I've never really been into soft wood of any kind.

When I graduated from high school I didn't really know what to do with my life so my dad enrolled me in the wood harvesting program at the technical school in Calais. I was always pretty good with a chainsaw.  Part of the training was on the job with Georgia Pacific.  I spent 22 weeks living in the woods just outside of Princeton with a bunch of guys who all spoke French.  It also happened to be mud season.

It didn't take me long to figure out that was not what I really wanted to do.

Some famous people did some different stuff before eventually doing what they do now.  The Huffington Post recently did an article on this.

Angelina Jolie wanted to be a funeral director and got the certificate to do so.  Will Ferrell studied sportscasting at USC.  Jennifer Lawrence wanted to be a doctor and Christopher Walken worked as a lion tamer with a circus.  Harrison Ford was a carpenter before he got his big break, and Danny DeVito was a hairdresser.

What career did you try out before doing what you do now?
