So is exercise defeating your weight loss goals? Well yes and no. Talk about your double edge sword. It can as a surprise to me that new research claims that exercise is in fact what is stopping us from losing weight.

The biggest factor leading to the lack of weight loss was the direct link between strenuous exercise and the need to "reward" or "treat" yourself after your workout. Leading weight loss experts claim that this "reward system" is one of the most common reasons why exercise is leading to weight gain.

Now that said, I think that delayed gratification may be part of the answer, I different study I was reading the other day said that one part of a successful goal of a healthy weight is planning one day per week you take off and have what you want. Not that I am any weight loss guru but I have found this to be true many times when I have wanted something more caloric than was wise for my goals.  I say to myself, plan to have it on ...and that makes it o.k. for me. But be darned sure come, what for me is generally Saturday, I'm having it.
