The feathers will fly!

The average like winter that we experienced in the state means that wild turkeys are pretty abundant, which should make for many successful hunts.

Spring turkey hunting for licensed hunters in most "wildlife districts" runs between May 1st and June 23rd. Make sure that you check to make sure the DATES in your district!  Remember, hunting on Sunday is illegal.

You may take two bearded wild turkeys with a spring permit.  You can use a shotgun, bow & arrow, or a crossbow.  You cannot use bait, dogs, traps, electronic calling devices, or shoot a turkey while it is in a tree. The legal time to hunt is a half-hour before sunrise and a half-hour after sunset.  Once again, complete turkey hunting rules can be found HERE!
