As Martha will tell you in the video these candies have been around since the turn of the century.  It’s known as America’s oldest candy company, the New England Confectionery Company, could be closing.

Turned out in Revere Massachusetts conversation hearts aren't the only candy we'll miss if they cease to be.  NECCO aslo produces NECCO Wafers, Mary Janes, Clark Bars, Candy Buttons, Squirrel Nut Zippers, along side their famous Sweetheart Valentine's Day hearts.

News has come out that NECCO is in debt owing nearly $100 million to lenders. If they don't find a buyer they will be forced to close.

According to app.com since the news broke people have been hoarding NECCO wafers just in case.
