The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Bangor and most of eastern Maine, with snow expected Tuesday evening into Wednesday.

The forecast calls for six to 12 inches of snow for northern and eastern Maine. Heavy snow and difficult travel are expected. High winds are expected to cause drifting snow during the day Wednesday.

The weather advisory affects areas as far south as Augusta, west to Rangeley, east to Eastport and north to Madawaska.
