A Monroe woman was charged with OUI after her car was rear-ended by a police cruiser that was trying to get her to pull over.

Hampden police got a report of an erratic driver Wednesday afternoon. Responding officers found a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Susan Rich allegedly traveling the wrong way on Western Avenue, nearly hitting several vehicles. Police tried to pull the car over, but Rich kept driving.

In an effort to force her to slow down and stop, one police cruiser pulled in front of Rich's car while another stayed behind her vehicle. Rich reacted by hitting her brakes and the cruiser traveling behind collided with her car.

No one was injured in the accident. Rich was charged with operating while under the influence, driving to endanger, and failure to stop for an officer. The BDN reports that she had a prior OUI conviction in 2009
