Woman Stabbed By Good Samaritan – Police Asking For Help

State police are asking for the public’s help with an investigation into an alleged stabbing on a remote road in Western Maine. Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release that a 33-year-old woman from Readfield drove herself to a Farmington hospital after suffering a stab wound on her arm.

Police say the assault took place on the McCrillis Corner Road in either Wilton or Chesterville Monday night when the woman’s car broke down close to the town line. Police say a man driving what is believed to be a white Chevrolet pickup stopped to help her and then assaulted her. The woman put up a struggle and the man allegedly stabbed her and then left.

He’s described as five feet ten inches tall, with a slender build and a goatee, wearing a mad bomber hat.  The woman drove three miles to the hospital and was treated and released.

State Police, who are working with the Wilton Police, are asking that anyone who was in the area of the McCrillis Corner Road and Route 133 between 7 and 9:15 Monday night to call them in Augusta at 624-7076 or call the Wilton police.
