The carriage trails at Acadia National Park have made Bicycling Magazine's "10 Best Car-Free Bike Paths In The U.S.A. list!

Locals and visitors alike know that the miles and miles of carriage trails within Acadia make a great ride! Where else can you see such beautiful ocean vistas? Acadia's carriage trails are well maintained and 16 feet wide!

Bicycling Magazine says of Acadia's bike paths, "Among the many picturesque route options, the 8.5-mile Giant Slide introduces you to Somes Sound, North America’s only fjord, and the Jordan-Bubble Ponds and Eagle Lake Loops make you feel like you’re standing inside a postcard."

The Island Line Rail Trail in Vermont is part of the list along with bike trails in Utah, California, South Dakota, Oregon, Missouri, New Mexico, and Idaho.
