Auburn Man Charged with Murder in Shooting of Lewiston Teen

A 20-year-old Auburn man is charged with murder for the shooting death of an 18-year-old on Halloween.

Hassan Hassan was critically injured in a shooting on River Street in Lewiston, just after 7:30 on Halloween night. He was transported to Central Maine Medical Center, where he later died.

On Monday night, Abdikadir A. Nur was arrested at his mother's house on Aspen Street in Auburn on a Maine State Police warrant for violation of conditions of release. Nur had been out on $10,000 bail since September 30th, after being arrested by Lewiston Police for elevated aggravated assault in June, in connection with a previous shooting in May. Tuesday afternoon, the Maine Attorney General's Office approved an arrest warrant for the additional charge of murder.

Nur is currently being held at the Androscoggin County Jail.
