The state of Maine has some highly-rated golf courses. Some offer not only a challenge, but stunning scenery as well. When it comes to the top course in Maine, Golf Digest released their 2025-'26 Best Golf Courses in Maine rankings in May.

Bangor's annual Summer Sidewalk Art Festival will return on Saturday, July 5, 2025, with over 100 Maine-based artists and vendors. The Downtown Bangor Partnership says the festival will also include live music and plenty of food and drink options.

A world-renowned art project has returned to the city of Bangor. The Umbrella Sky Project includes over 170 art installations worldwide, including one that has again taken over Cross Street in the city's downtown area.

Distance runner Ruth White of Orono is headed to the NCAA Championships after placing sixth in the 10,000 meter run at the NCAA East First Round on Thursday night. By finishing in the top 12 out of a field of 48 runners, the University of New Hampshire freshman qualifies for the June 12 final at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Maine has over 60 historic lighthouses, each of them adding to Maine's scenic charm and currently or previously playing a role in maritime navigation. Each of them posses their own unique characteristics. One of them, located off Maine's southern coast, has the distinction of being the tallest lighthouse in not just Maine but all of New England.
