Earlier this week came the news that a number of Cinemagic Movie Theaters in Southern Maine and throughout New England would be closing until this Spring. So I guess its not surprising that Bangor Mall Cinemas is apparently following suit.

According to a recent post to the Bangor Mall Cinemas 10 Facebook Page:

As many voiced disappointment, but also understanding in the comment section of the page, the cinema's management reassured patrons that they would indeed be reopening, hopefully by this Spring.

"... we will be back... Stay tuned for our reopen date. Hopefully early spring."

The Theater was forced to shut down last Spring when the pandemic hit the area but did reopen in July. But with most of Hollywood either delaying or canceling projects, or alternately launching new releases on home streaming platforms like Amazon Prime or Apple +,  it's been difficult for Movie Theaters across the country to entice patrons to leave their homes for the cinema experience.

Bangor Mall Cinemas 10 was able to remain open through the fall and even offered an expanded schedule through the holiday season.

Management said that patrons who received gift certificates for a free movie do not need to worry, as those do not expire and will be honored once the cinema reopens.
