The State Medical Examiner's office has confirmed that Paul 'June Bug' Francis III died of accidental drowning.

Francis was the subject of multiple searches after he went missing in early December. The 29-year-old was last seen leaving a party on Sanford Street in Bangor. Family and friends became concerned when he failed to show up for work, and began looking for him. That search would last for weeks and involve people who knew him, loved him, and some who had never met him but got caught up in the mystery of his disappearance.

His body was pulled from the Penobscot River in Bucksport on January 21st. While the cause of death is accidental drowning, questions remain about the last moments of June Bug's life and how he ended up in the water. The name of a Facebook page that was originally set up to give updates on the Search for June Bug has been renamed 'Justice for June Bug,' and its facilitators are asking for any information about the night he died.
