I've passed the Wienermobile on the highway before. I even took some photos. Really, how often do you see a 27-foot hot dog cruising down the Maine highways? But have you ever stopped to think about the person who has to drive that giant meat log around? Have you ever wished it could be you? Now's your chance.

Oscar Mayer has begun taking submissions from folks who want to become 'Hotdoggers'. That's the kitchy name they have for folks who drive the Wienermobile. The name may sound funny, but the application process is no joke. they want people with Associate's or Bachelor's degrees in things like marketing, PR, advertising, etc.

It makes sense. According to News Center Maine, you're literally a brand ambassador, so you need to be able to walk the walk, as well as talk the talk. You'll be 'meating' and greeting people in big and small towns all over the country. It's been to Maine several times. I've seen photos of it at Portland Headlight, LL Bean, and lots of other places.

It's a one year position, full time. I couldn't tell from the website what kind of money it pays, but if you're just getting out of college and looking for some crazy, cross-country adventures, why not hop in a 27-foot meat stick and hit the highway? They also train you for two weeks at Hot Dog High, where you'll become a meat pun master.

You'll be able to tell all your friends and family for years, til they're sick of hearing it, about the time you drove an Oscar Mayer wiener for a year. So if you think you've got what it takes, you can see what it's all about right here. It'll either be the job of a lifetime, or the story of a lifetime. Good luck!
