Border Patrol Offering Enormous Sign-On Bonuses to Work in Northern Maine
News organizations have been covering the level of security on the United States border for decades.
However, since January of 2021, we have seen that level of coverage reach new highs. What started under the Biden administration remains a hot topic under the Trump administration.
As the current administration continues to crack down on people illegally entering the country, it should come as no surprise that the administration is ramping up the hiring of staff for the agencies that handle border security.

While much of the focus is on the United States' border with Mexico, it is important to note that people with nefarious plans often sneak through the U.S. border with Canada, too.
As a result, the U.S. Border Patrol is working to hire people specifically to work along Maine's border with New Brunswick and Quebec.
According to a press release from the U.S. Border Patrol, they are offering up to a $30,000 sign-on bonus for those willing to work northern borders.
The press release gives some details about the hiring process:
Candidates must be U.S. citizens, under 40 years of age, physically fit and able to pass a background investigation. All eligible individuals are encouraged to apply and interested veterans and current, or previous, law enforcement officers are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must complete the entire pre-employment process, to include a polygraph. If hired for the position each individual must complete the Border Patrol basic training academy in Artesia, New Mexico.
As for the bonus, $10,000 will be paid once you complete the training process and you'll get the remainder once you complete a 3-year term of employment.
The salary for these positions ranges from between $60,000 and $120,000 per year.
It does appear that you need to be a veteran in order to be eligible for this particular position. Get more details about this job HERE. You can see an entire list of jobs right now at the USA Jobs website.
