The last 25 years have really been a great time for fans of the zombie apocalypse genre.

Several great intellectual properties, including The Walking Dead and Resident Evil, have gifted us with dozens of movies, TV series, books, and video games.

Even though the peak of the genre’s popularity may be behind us, please still love zombies.

This is especially true during the months around Halloween.

How Would You Survive a Zombie Apocalypse?

If your friend group are fans of the zombie genre, there is a good chance that you have, at least once or twice, had a debate about what the best course of action would be if you wanted to survive a zombie outbreak.

Where would you go?  What would you bring with you?  What are the best weapons to use against Zeke (the undead)?

Recently, the New York Post printed an article detailing the best and worst states to escape to during a zombie apocalypse.

Maine is One of the Best States to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse

The study, which was done by CanadaCasino, looked at several important factors in each state.  Some of the key statistics were population density, the number of airports per capita, the number of hunting stores, and the number of hospitals per capita.

Maine was the second best state to flee to during a zombie outbreak. Overall, we scored a 5.31.

The best state was determined to be Alaska.  The frozen wilderness state snagged an overall score of 7.89.

The worst state was New Jersey.  It had a score of just 1.66.  Connecticut came in second place and Pennsylvania and Massachusetts were tied for third place.
