Bangor Fire Crews Called for Mutual Aid to Help Fight the Blaze
The fire at 75 4th Street in Bangor was reported just after 5:30 on Monday morning. The single-family had been boarded up by the city and condemned prior to the fire. Despite that, initial reports indicated that there may have been people trapped inside the building.
No One Was Living in the House At the Time of the Fire
When fire crews suppressed the fire, no one was found inside, however, Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says one person who had been in the building sustained serious burn injuries. He was taken to a Bangor hospital and will be transferred, at some point, to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment of significant burns.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

State Fire Marshal's Office Called to Investigate
Fire investigators say a propane gas explosion was the likely cause of the fire. The State Fire Marshal's Office is working with the Bangor Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
