A Belfast Area High School student has died from injuries he sustained in a shooting early Thursday morning.

Who is the Victim?

The victim is a teenage male. So far, his name has not been released.

Where Did This Happen?

Police were called to Marsh Road early Thursday morning to a report of a shooting victim. Whey they arrived, they found the teen who had a serious gunshot wound. According to the Republican Journal, he was transported to Waldo County Hospital before being flown by Maine Life Flight to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. It was there that he died from his injuries.

Is the Public in Any Danger?

Belfast Police say the incident is under investigation and that there is no danger to the public. So far, there have been no reports of any arrests in connection with this case.
