Maine State Police are investigating the death of a woman at a home in the town of Hartland.

Maine Officials Have Not Released the Name of the Deceased

The deceased has not been identified, and police have not commented on how she died.

The Deceased Woman Was Found at a Home in Hartland

Officials have not commented on the circumstances that led them to a residence on Canaan Road in Hartland on Saturday, April 12th, where the deceased was located. However, Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the Somerset County Sheriff's Office requested the assistance of the Maine State Police at approximately 6:30 that evening.

The woman's body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy was performed on Monday. The results of that examination have not yet been completed. Moss says the name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of her family.

Maine State Police Continue to Investigate the Death

The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation by the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit. Officials say there is no known threat to the public.
