Maine Police Have Released the Identity of a Woman Found Dead in a Lewiston Home

The deceased has been identified as Melissa Donoghue, 42, of Lewiston. Police have not commented on whether anyone else was home when they arrived.

Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says Lewiston Police were called to a residence on Old Greene Road on Monday, June 2, 2025, just after 5 a.m. for a report of a deceased person. When they arrived, they found Ms. Donoghue at the home. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South is now aiding in the investigation.

Maine Officials Have Not Divulged How the Lewiston Woman Died

An autopsy was performed on Tuesday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta. So far, the cause and manner of death have not been released, since this is an ongoing investigation.

Officials say there is no threat to the public.
