A New Hampshire man was taken into custody after leading Lincoln Police on a pursuit in his pickup that included ATV trails.

Lincoln, Maine, Police Arrest a New Hampshire Man on Multiple Charges

Lincoln Police say the suspect faces multiple charges:

Nathan Fortier, 24, of Amherst, New Hampshire, is charged with:

  • Eluding an officer
  • Operating without a license
  • Theft by Unauthorised Taking

Mr. Fortier was on parole in New Hampshire and was taken to the Penobscot County Jail. Police say more charges will be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

Lincoln, Maine, Police Say They Received Multiple Reports of a Reckless Driver

It was approximately 5:30 Sunday night when Lincoln Police began receiving reports of a black Ford F-250 pickup truck allegedly being driven recklessly near White Point Estates Road.

A caller told authorities the vehicle, which had a partially obstructed New Hampshire license plate and red dirt bike in the bed, had struck and damaged a private gate. A short time later, a caller reported kayaks had been stolen by an individual driving a vehicle with the same description.

Police issued a Be On The Lookout (BOLO) order and shared it with other law enforcement agencies.

Lincoln, Maine, Police Say the Pursuit Included the Truck Driving on ATV Trails

When Lincoln Police located the pickup and tried to initiate a traffic stop, the driver sped off, leading Sergeant Daren Mason on a pursuit that continued through local ATV trails,  near I-95.

The vehicle was later found abandoned, with a red dirt bike and other related items found near the scene. Lincoln Police believe the black Ford F-250 was stolen in New Hampshire.

Fortier was also located nearby, traveling on foot, and was taken into custody.

This investigation is ongoing.
