Nearly 40 people in the United States illegally were caught in Maine in a 10-day targeted enforcement operation.

U.S. Border Patrol Arrested 39 Illegal Aliens in Maine in 10 Days

Targeted enforcement operations resulted in arrests of 39 illegal aliens in the towns of Oquossoc, Mechanic Falls, Madawaska, Dresden, Palmyra, Rangeley, Madison, Augusta, and Houlton, Maine.

The names of the subjects have not been released by the United States Border Patrol. Officials say the 39 illegal aliens are from many different countries, including Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and China. They are in custody and will face various immigration charges.

Authorities say several of the people apprehended by Border Agents have documented criminal histories, including offenses like assault and battery on a family member, criminal possession of a weapon, and theft. One person will be prosecuted for reentry after deportation, which carries significant criminal penalties.

Border Agents Say This Year's Arrests Have Already Surpassed Last Year.

So far this year, Border Patrol Agents have apprehended more illegal aliens than in all of 2024. Officials say anyone found to be in the U.S. illegally or operating within the framework of a smuggling operation will be caught and face the consequences.

Anyone in the country illegally who wishes can begin self-deportation through CBP Home to preserve their immigration options in the future.
