A Bangor judge has sentenced a Dominican man who used Facebook to sell fentanyl in Maine.

Alexis De Leon, 30, is sentenced to 5 years in prison for his role in a Massachusetts to Maine fentanyl trafficking conspiracy.
He was one of three co-conspirators in this case who pleaded guilty to the charges against them.

Co-defendants Ramon De Leon and Mandi Ford are awaiting sentencing.
Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Says Dominican Man Used Facebook to Sell Fentanyl
The U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Maine says the De Leons and Ford worked together to transport large amounts of fentanyl from Massachusetts to Maine.
An initial investigation revealed that someone known locally as 'Leon Leon' was using a Facebook account and other means to contact associates and customers in Maine to arrange for distribution.
As the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency's investigation continued, they found that Alexis De Leon was responsible for operating that Facebook page.
Drug agents arranged for undercover purchases of fentanyl from the person know as Leon Leon.
Maine Fentanyl Operation Distributed Enough Fentanyl to Kill Millions of People
Alexis De Leon was arrested in June 2024 when the Maine State Police Troopers and MDEA agents conducted a traffic stop and found him in possession of a large quantity of fentanyl on its way to Bangor.
The court found that De Leon was responsible for distributing over 20 kilograms of fentanyl in Maine, which is enough to kill over 10 million people.
