An amazing mural is being created in front of the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor to showcase 21 talented local artists.

Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor is Getting a New Mural

If you've passed the Maine Savings Amphitheater this week, you've probably noticed artist, Jared Goulette, aka the Color Wizard, creating a mural on the fence surrounding the facility.

Waterfront Concerts has made some amazing improvements to the Maine Savings Amphitheater over the past couple of years, so they decided it was time to dress up the outside.

Maine's Bangor Beautiful Has Created Several Mural Around the City

Bangor Beautiful improved the city's look over the past few years, including murals like Bee City, USA, and the River Ecology mural. They've worked with Jared before, when he was commissioned to create the Spring Woods Mural on Hammond Street, across from the Post Office.

Casey Frye says the folks at Waterfront Concerts contacted Bangor Beautiful with an idea to create an amazing new mural along the wall surrounding the facility. It would beautify the waterfront area and showcase some local artists to concertgoers.

Maine Artists Will Create 20+ Murals to Adorn the Maine Savings Amphitheater Fence

The result is going to be awesome. Jared has created a long mural that reads, 'We Hope You Have a Wicked Good Time,' in a vintage postcard style. Inside and around the letters are scenes of Central Maine. The entire mural was created using spray paint!

Color-blocked panels adorn the rest of the fence, and 20 local artists will add their own, smaller murals to the color panels. Each artist was given the materials to complete their mural and a $450 stipend, paid by Waterfront Concerts.

Jared's mural took two days to complete, other than the clear coat that will come later, and the rest of the fence will be completed by the end of the month. And that's not all. Maine native plants and flowers will line the sidewalk to make the Maine Savings Amphitheater and the City of Bangor beautiful.
