By December, the FBI became involved in the search, partly because Damron's hometown of New Sweden is close to the Canadian border. Together with the Maine State Police, the FBI is offering up to a $15,000 reward for information that leads to Stefanie's safe return to her family and/or information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of anyone involved in her disappearance.
