
Rumford Maine Man Faces More Charges After Police Find Guns
A Rumford Man whose children were removed from his home, along with drugs, in April, now faces firearms charges.
Two Children Were Removed From the Rumford, Maine, Suspect's Home in April
Alexander Taylor Kubesh, 33, of Rumford, was arrested on April 3, 2025, after a search warrant was executed at his Pine Street home. He was taken into custody on multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

In addition to the drugs that were seized, Rumford police found conditions that they said were severely unsanitary and unsafe for two young children, ages 4 and 5. The juveniles were removed from the home, and Kubesh was transported to jail. DHHS Child Protective Services took custody of the children, and two young dogs were turned over to Rumford's Animal Control Officer.
Rumford, Maine, Police Searched a Second Location and Found Guns and Ammunition
Police originally went to the home because of complaints from neighbors about alleged drug activity and firearms, but no guns were found in the initial search.

Since then, authorities learned of a second location where they believed the firearms were located. Officials from state and federal agencies executed a search warrant this week at 419 Roxbury Notch Road in Roxbury.
Seized in that search were:
- An AR-10 rifle
- .50 caliber muzzleloader
- Firearm suppressor (silencer)
- Assorted ammunition.
He now faces three felony counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. If convicted, each firearms charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
Rumford Police Say the Suspect is a Multi-State Offender
Rumford Police say Kubesh is a multi-state offender with a prior criminal history, which includes convictions in Maine for disorderly conduct, violating conditions of release, felony trafficking in scheduled drugs, and probation violation. As a convicted felon, he is not allowed to have firearms.
