
20 Protesters Charged with Blocking a Public Way in Maine
Police arrested 20 protesters Wednesday afternoon and charged them with blocking a street in Portland.

The Portland Police Department charged all 20 individuals with blocking a public way.
Sitting in the Road and Blocking Traffic
The protesters were blocking Commercial Street near Pearl Street around 3:45 pm. They used traffic cones and were sitting in the road, said Portland PD.
Police Gave Two Warnings to Move
Officers used a loudspeaker two times and warned them to move or face arrest. The protesters did not move and 20 people were taken into custody.
Active Investigation
They were all transported to the Cumberland County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
