Check out this great ride to benefit our area Special Olympics in memory of one Special Olympian next week.

Saturday, July 27th the 'Daniel Scott Ride for Special Olympics' journey will begin at Bruce's Tractor Sales in Hermon starting at 10:30 AM with registration beginning at 9 AM.

For the bike it’s $25, riders will be an additional $10 and if you only want to eat lunch it’s just $5! Donations of any amount are always accepted.

The ride will take you to the Levant Fire Station.  Check out the route map here.

100% of donations contributed will directly benefit the Special Olympics of Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Hancock Counties.

As part of the ride you also get a lunch.  Not too shabby!

The ride is to honor the memory of Daniel Scott, a former long time member of the Special Olympics.

According to the description written in the Facebook event, Scott was "an active member of his community and church. He was a successful advocate for himself and others. Daniel touched the lives of many, and always brought the biggest smile where ever he went. Always making sure, that during every Olympic Event he participated in, he not only had the biggest smile but gave everyone around him a reason to smile."
