Maine Voters Can Now Request Absentee Ballots for November’s Election
I don't know about you, but I hate waiting in line.
Yes, I'm an impatient person. That's probably a given. But sometimes waiting in line can just be the worst. When you're starving to the point of snacking on the lint in your pocket, seeing a huge line of people waiting to get into the restaurant you were hoping to get into, makes your heart sink into the floor.

Half the time I pull into places and look at the parking lot, and that's usually enough to send me somewhere else. Hannaford looks too busy? I'm out of there. Long line at the car wash, or the oil change place? See ya later! Every once in a while though, something that should normally take forever, can be done in your skivvies.
It's three months before the election, so why not vote in your kitchen?
For the last several years, I've treated myself to what I feel is one of the greatest gifts a person could give themselves. I totally skip the polls on Election Day. Obviously, I vote. But instead of waiting in line for who-knows-how-long, I get my absentee ballot. In Maine, you can start requesting them once we're three months out from Election Day.
It's a super simple process that can be done right online. If you follow this link right here, it will take you right to the state's website where you make the request. Once you fill it out, you just have to return it to the town you live in. It can either be dropped off with your town's municipal clerk.
The whole process is ridiculously easy.
The whole thing takes maybe, two minutes. I'm not exaggerating either. You fill out some easy stuff, it goes to your town, and they send you back a ballot. Or possibly they may deny it, and then they tell you what needs to be corrected. And once that's all done, you just fill it out.

It could be 3:00am on a Sunday morning, or noon on a Tuesday. It's all on your time. Just make sure to send it in on time. The state even offers an FAQ and simple guide on getting it all done. Trust me, this election is going to have huge turnout, so do yourself this one tiny favor, and vote in your pajamas this year.
