Wanna wear a kilt this weekend? The 2022 Maine Celtic Celebration will begin this afternoon and run all weekend in Belfast at Belfast Commons.

Music begins at 4 p.m. in the Beer Tent.  And begins on the main stage at 5:30 p.m. The music continues through Sunday.  Not nonstop. But count on a whole lot of that great Celtic music all weekend long in Belfast.

There so much more to do all weekend too.

On Sunday the Highland Heavy Games begin at 9 a.m. on the Belfast Steamboat Landing. Watch. OR participate. But if you are participating, you must get yourself registered at 8 a.m. The games include the caber toss, hammer throw, shot put and weight for height.  Great to do, and just as great to be a spectator.

There are the Maine Ulster Scots Project workshops on Saturday and they also continue on Sunday.

How about an area for Scottish Clans to gather. Oh to hear those stories when they get together to chat.

Also on Sunday, a must see event. The US National Cheese Roll Championship. It begins at 1:30 p.m. You’ll see the cheese wheel roll.  And taste samples of the cheese too. They think of everything.. The event is free to enter, but you must sign up at the Merchandise Tent.

Belfast Maine is a great town any weekend. But it’s even more special this weekend when all participate in the Maine Celtic Celebration.
